THE PROBLEM
We all know that our society is broken, and the reason is primarily fathers. On the highest level, most people do not know their Heavenly Father, and on an earthly level, men are no longer men. Too many men father children, but take little or no responsibility, and so God’s design for the family is broken. Here is the result:
Some of these statistics are decades old – which means many of the irresponsible men today grew up without fathers; they were never taught to be men.
THE SOLUTION
Strong nations are based on strong families, and that is based on strong marriages. At New Heart and Mind we work with men who have recognized their moral bankrupt condition, have turned to Christ, and want to rise up and be the men God designed them to be.
WE WORK IN THREE WAYS
This style of one-on-one counseling is effective because it is a form of cognitive replacement therapy. Our feelings and actions are controlled by what we believe, and often the beliefs are wrong. Cognitive replacement therapy identifies the lies someone is believing and replaces it with truth. Immediately, one’s feelings and actions changed. As Jesus said, “The truth sets you free” [John 8:32].

- 85% of children who exhibit behavioral disorders come from fatherless homes. [Center for Disease Control]

- 70% of juveniles in state operated institutions have no father. [US Department of Justice, Special Report, Sept. 1988]
- 85% of youths in prisons grew up in a fatherless home. [Fulton County Georgia jail populations, Texas Department of Corrections, 1992]
- Fatherless boys and girls are: twice as likely to drop out of high school; twice as likely to end up in jail; four times more likely to need help for emotional or behavioral problems. [US D.H.H.S. news release, March 26, 1999]

- We provide one-on-one counseling using the APS Christian profile system*.
